The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has asked boxer, Jacob Tetteh Laryea, to make Ghana proud on Sunday by winning the Africa Boxing Union (ABU) title.

The Junior Middleweight boxer, Jacob Tetteh Laryea, (12-0-0) will challenge DR Congo idol, Jacques Tshikubu Muvud, (9-3- 1) at the Chapiteau de Kolwezi on Sunday.

At stake is the Africa Boxing Union (ABU) Junior Middleweight title.

Weigh-in for the event is scheduled for tomorrow at the fight venue.

In a goodwill message released by the GBA and signed by its president, Mr Roger Barnor, it urged Laryea to go all out to make the nation proud by defeating his opponent.

“The GBA recognises the weeks of hard work in preparation for this fight and is extremely confident you will overcome your adversary in front of his home fans. The entire nation is behind you. Go and make the nation proud,” the statement said.

It also assured the Bronx Boxing Gym boxer of the support of Ghanaians, urging him to reciprocate that gesture by winning the title.
