Burglars stole £500,000 worth of designer goods during a series of ‘smash and grab’ raids on luxury London retailers, a court heard.
Ryan Brough, 32, Max Tyson, 25, Oliver Ndayizeye, 35, Sonny Stringer, 30, and Harry Johnson, 24, have been charged with conspiracy to burgle over a three-month period between November 2025 and January 2026.
The five thieves allegedly drove a black SUV from Islington, north London, into the centre of the city before ramming it into the windows of high-end designer outlets.
On January 23, they have been accused of stealing £30,000 worth of handbags from Yves Saint Laurent on Bond Street in a brazen raid captured on camera by onlookers.
Brough and Tyson, both of Islington, were arrested later that same day and charged. Ndayizeye, Stringer and Johnson were subsequently charged with involvement.
The defendants appeared at Inner London Crown Court this week via video links from prisons such as Wandsworth, Thameside and Chelmsford.
Brough, Tyson, Ndayizeye, Stringer and Johnson are charged with conspiracy to burgle Yves Saint Laurent on November 11. While four of the alleged thieves, excluding Ndayizeye, face a second charge relating to burglaries at Bottega Veneta, END Clothing and Loro Piana.
Prosecutor Gitana Megvine earlier said the offences relate to a series of ‘high value smash and grab commercial burglaries.’

She added that in total five raids were carried out with a stolen car working in tandem with moped and high powered E-bikes.
‘Each of the cases of offending involves a vehicle which was stolen deliberately reversing through the windows of the premises,’ she said.
‘The total value of the property stolen is now in excess of £500,000.’
Tyson, Brough, Stringer and Johnson allegedly targeted Bottega Veneta on Old Bond Street on 17 November using a vehicle to reverse into the storefront and make off with designer goods worth more than £40,000.
The four men are also accused of carrying out a similar raid at END Clothing in Broadwick Street on 1 December.
Tyson, Brough, Stringer and Johnson too charged with another burglary at Loro Piana, a luxury Italian fashion brand a short walk from Harrods, on 16 December.
Burglars used a white Mitsubishi SUV to reverse into the windows of the store in Sloane Street and make off with goods worth just under £400,000.
Judge Ian Darling remanded the five defendants in custody ahead of their trial on September 7.
They will face a further case management hearing on 20 March and a possible plea and trial preparation hearing on 31 March.
