Deputy Defence Minister, Brogya Genfi, has announced a major recruitment drive by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s defence and security capacity.

Deputy Defence Minister, Brogya Genfi, has announced a major recruitment drive by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s defence and security capacity.

According to him, the exercise, which begins this week, will see 12,000 new personnel enlisted into the service over the next three years.

Genfi explained that in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to affordability, accessibility and fairness, the cost of recruitment forms has been reduced by more than 40% compared to the previous exercise.

He added that recruitment will be conducted across all regions to ensure equal opportunity and inclusion.

He stressed that the process will be transparent and strictly merit-based, cautioning the public against fraudulent recruitment schemes.

“Recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is NOT for sale—and will NEVER be for sale under our #EagleEyes watch. Any individual or syndicate involved in fraudulent recruitment schemes will be dealt with without mercy,” he warned.

The Deputy Minister further clarified that no recruitment would take place on social media platforms.

He said the requirements, procedures and regional recruitment centres will be published on the Ministry of Defence and GAF websites, as well as in selected newspapers and electronic media.

Genfi underscored the government’s vision of building a disciplined, inclusive, and professional military force.

“We are building a force that reflects the strength, discipline, and unity of Ghana,” he said.
