    The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) held its annual National Tourism Awards at the Osu Castle Gardens on October 25, 2024, under the theme “Celebrating Innovation and Recognizing Excellence in Ghana’s Tourism Sector.”

    The event was attended by dignitaries, including the Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Hon. Egypa Mercer, and Deputy Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey.

    Also present were the GTA Board Chairman and members, along with GTA CEO Mr. Akwasi Agyeman and Deputy CEOs Mr. Ekow Sampson (Operations), Hon. Seth Adjei Baah (Board Chairman), and Mr. Ben Anane Nsiah (General Services).

    Leaders from diplomatic circles, industry professionals, and agency heads under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture were also in attendance.

    Former Minister for Tourism, Hon. Florence Oboshie Sai Cofie, now Senior Media Advisor to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, served as Chairperson for the occasion and received a special award.

    The awards featured 26 categories, including 5-Star Hotel of the Year, Night Club of the Year, and Local Chop Bar of the Year, among others.

    Winner: Eusbett Hotel – Bono

    HONORARY AWARDS

    Award: Long-standing Commitment to Quality Events Service

    Recipient: Madam Afi Amoro, CEO, Jandel LTD.

    Award: Woman of Excellence in Public Service

    Recipient: Mrs. Bridget Katsriku, Former Chief Director, Ministry of Tourism.

    Award: Outstanding Leadership in Tourism Development

    Recipient: Nana Effah Guakro IV, Chief of Kyeremankoma, Kintampo, and Kronkor Hene of Nkoranza.

    Award: Outstanding Contributions to Diaspora Engagement

    Recipient: Rabbi Kohain Nathanyah Helevi, Executive Director, PANAFEST Secretariat.

    Award: Outstanding Contributions to Promoting Tourism through Events

    Recipient: Mrs. Theresa Ayoade, CEO, Charter House.

    Award: Traditional Leadership and Cultural Preservation

    Recipient: Masaaba Sariki Fayinama III, Ag. President, National Council of Zongo Chiefs & President, National Council of Wangara Chiefs.

    Award: Outstanding Events Visionary

    Recipient: Kennedy Agyapong Jnr., Afrofuture.

    Award: Long-standing Commitment to Promoting Tourism through Advertising

    Recipient: Mrs. Norkor Dua, CEO, Mullen Lowe Ghana.

    Musician Kwabena Kwabena delivered a thrilling performance, featuring hits like “Adult Music,” “Meye,” and “Ddea Annoma.” A live band from the Ghana Immigration Service also entertained attendees with amazing Ghanaian songs.
