Fuel prices are expected to drop at the pumps from June 16, 2025, following the postponement of the implementation of the GH¢1 Energy Sector Levy.
According to the Pricing Outlook by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies, a litre of petrol is likely to be sold at GH¢11.77, representing a drop of between 1.1% and 2.25% from the price quoted in the first pricing window.
Diesel, on the other hand, is expected to go down by as much as 4.3%, pushing the price of a litre to GH¢12.13.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is expected to decline by 3.2%. This will result in a kilogramme being sold at GH¢13.30.
This will be the seventh consecutive time fuel prices are dropping this year.
The Chamber had earlier announced that fuel prices were likely to increase following the implementation of the D-Levy.
However, due to the Israel-Iran conflict, the government has postponed the implementation of the levy.
The reduction has also been attributed to the impressive run of the cedi in recent times.
However, rising global tensions have resulted in an increase in oil prices, as a barrel of Brent crude oil is selling around US$75.
According to reports, if crude oil prices continue increasing, consumers would pay more at the pumps in the next pricing window in July.
