Consumers are breathing a little easier as fuel prices saw a reduction at various pumps on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Petrol fell from GH¢10.99 to GH¢9.99 per litre, marking a full GH¢1 reduction. Diesel also declined, moving from GH¢11.96 to GH¢11.21 per litre, which represents a 75 pesewas cut.
The adjustment, reflected in the Ghana Oil Company (GOIL) rates, comes on the back of a strengthening cedi against major trading currencies, especially the US dollar.
Petrol, diesel and LPG prices expected to fall from January 16.
For everyday drivers, this means spending less to fill their tanks and freeing up money for other needs.
Transport operators may also pass on the relief to passengers through reduced fares.
