The Ghana Football Association have appointed Bibiani GoldStars coach Frimpong Manso as the new head coach of Ghana’s U17 national team, the Black Starlets.

Manso will replace Laryea Kingston, who left the position during the qualifiers for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations.

Manso boasts an impressive coaching pedigree, bringing a wealth of experience to his new role. His illustrious career includes leading several top-flight clubs, such as Stade d’Abidjan, Asante Kotoko, Karela United, B.A. United, Medeama SC (formerly Kessben FC), and Nkoranza Warriors. Currently, he is the head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars in the Ghana Premier League.

Renowned for his exceptional ability to identify and develop young talent, Manso has a proven track record of nurturing future stars. His expertise in youth development is underscored by his tenure as head coach of Ghana’s National U17 team from 2009 to 2010, a role he assumed after serving as the team’s assistant coach.

Additionally, he gained valuable experience as assistant coach of the Black Meteors, Ghana’s National Male Under-23 team, from 2006 to 2008.

Coach Manso’s impressive credentials include a CAF Licence A Coaching Certificate, a testament to his coaching prowess. He is expected to significantly bolster the Black Starlets’ chances of success in their upcoming international engagements.

To support him, Coaches Nana Kweku Agyemang and Jacob Nettey have been retained as assistant coaches, providing continuity and stability to the team’s coaching setup.
