NFL star Stephon Gilmore has begged for teams to sign him for a 14th season as training camp nears and he is still unattached.

Gilmore played last season for the Minnesota Vikings and was not picked up by the team for the 2025 season.

No other team has made an offer to Gilmore, who turns 35 in September, as franchises have to balance his productivity, experience, and value at his age.

Gilmore was the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 when playing for the New England Patriots. He believes that form is still possible.

‘I want to play this year, it’s just got to be the right situation,’ Gilmore said on The Money Down podcast. ‘It’s got to be the right situation for me. I’m not just gonna sign anywhere. … I still love the game. I still can contribute. It’s just got to be the right place.’

Gilmore did not mention which teams are off his list of places to sign, with most players looking to join a team that can make a playoff run.

Injuries will happen throughout the NFL season, leading to teams possibly inquiring about Gilmore even if he is unsigned during Week 1.

Gilmore has five Pro Bowl selections under his belt but has not made the NFL’s all-star extravaganza since 2021.

Gilmore played for four teams each of the last four years, with his long stints with the Buffalo Bills and the Patriots being what he’s best known for.

In the last four years, Gilmore suited up for the Panthers, Colts, Cowboys, and with Minnesota.

Gilmore is free to sign with any team, with the veteran appearing to be ready to jump at a favorable opportunity.
