Renowned tennis executive and former United States Tennis Association (USTA) President Katrina Adams is set to arrive in Ghana from June 20 to 24, 2025, for a landmark visit aimed at developing grassroots tennis and advancing women’s leadership.

The trip, organised by the Africa 10 Foundation, will feature a series of tennis clinics and leadership engagements. Adams will be joined by fellow former professional player Roger Smith. Together, they will lead youth-focused clinics at the Accra Tennis Club.

The first session, on Saturday, June 21, will cater to players aged 7 to 12, while the second, on Sunday, June 22, will target the 13–17 age group.

Both sessions will also involve direct engagement with local coaches, offering mentorship and guidance on player development and coaching strategy.

Adams’ visit also includes a high-level roundtable titled “Legacy: What’s Next for Ghana Tennis?” on June 21 at the Kempinski Hotel, bringing together key figures to discuss the sport’s future in the country.

Off the court, she will launch her book Own Your Arena and host a Women in Leadership Roundtable focused on visibility, voice, and victory.

Kojo Annan, founder of the Africa 10 Foundation, suggests that Adams’ visit won’t be a one-off event, but rather one that could spark long-term change, particularly in how Ghana nurtures talent and supports women in leadership roles.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Ms. Katrina Adams to Ghana. Her visit is more than just a series of tennis clinics; it’s an opportunity to inspire a generation, empower our coaches, and reinforce our commitment to women’s leadership, both on and off the court. We believe her presence will leave a lasting legacy for sports development and female empowerment in Ghana,” he said.

Adams, one of the most influential women in global tennis, is expected to leave a lasting impact not only on young athletes but on Ghana’s sporting landscape as a whole.
