Former Sekondi Hasaacas player Kwabena Baidoo met his untimely death during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) victory celebration in the Ellembelle District in the Western Region.

According to ghanasoccernet.com, the player died in a motor accident while jubilating with fellow NDC members in the area.

The brother of the deceased, Emmanuel Quarm, confirmed the tragic news and indicated that the demise saddens the entire family.

The deceased player’s family has yet to release a statement on the incident, likewise his club, Sekondi Hasaacas.

NDC supporters across the nation jubilated overwhelmingly after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, conceded defeat to John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 general elections on December 8, 2024.

Even when the EC had not officially declared the results, many people in parts of Accra, Kumasi, and other towns were celebrating the victory on the streets, as the party had been in opposition for eight years since 2016.
