Bernard Martei Korley, a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for the Ledzokuku Constituency and Patron of the GaDangme National Students Union (GADANSU), has thrown his weight behind the Union’s Volunteer Teachers Programme through his charitable arm, the BMK Hope Foundation.

A delegation from GADANSU, led by its National President, paid a courtesy call on Korley on Tuesday September 9, 2025, during which he reaffirmed his commitment to education and youth development across GaDangme land.

Korley fulfilled his earlier pledge of support to the Volunteer Teachers Programme, a flagship initiative of GADANSU run in collaboration with the Regional Education Directorate of the Ghana Education Service.

The programme aims to reduce teacher shortages in underserved schools while engaging young graduates to contribute to teaching and mentorship.

He assured the Union’s leadership of his continued support for its future projects, stressing that empowering young people was essential to shaping the destiny of the GaDangme community.

“Hon Korley’s intervention is not only timely but also inspiring. It shows true leadership, one that goes beyond words into action. His commitment strengthens our resolve to bridge the teacher deficit in our communities while empowering young graduates to serve,” the National President of GADANSU said in appreciation.

The Union believes that with the sustained backing of patrons like Korley, alongside other stakeholders and community leaders, the Volunteer Teachers Programme will make a lasting impact on education and youth empowerment in GaDangme land.
