Former Asante Kotoko winger, Francis Coffie has appealed to the public for financial support, citing severe hardship in his current living conditions.

The public’s attention was drawn to the ‘poor’ living condition by former footballer Joseph Tagoe, popularly known as Bobby Short who shared a video on Facebook sighted by GhanaWeb.

In the video sighted by GhanaWeb, Coffie’s small room was cramped, with a bed taking up most of the space and clothes and belongings strewn around.

He sleeps without a fan, has a faulty lighting and the place becomes unbearable on rainy days.

“This is where he lives, and it’s not good. The room is small, and the arrangement of his bed and clothes is not ideal,” Bobby Short said during the tour.

Bobby Short appealed to the public to assist Coffie in improving his living conditions.

“I’d plead with everyone to support him and renovate his room,” he added.

Francis Coffie was a talented footballer who played for Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold in the Ghana Premier League.

He later joined Sudanese giants Al Merreikh, helping them win the Sudan Premier League in 2015.
