Former Asante Kotoko players Danlad Ibrahim and Edwin Tuffour Frimpong, currently playing in the Ethiopian Premier League, have paid tribute to Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Pooley.

The passionate Asante Kotoko supporter tragically lost his life after being stabbed during a violent clash between fans at the Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Nana Konamansah Park.

Their emotional tribute comes as the football community continues to mourn Pooley’s untimely passing, which has ignited widespread calls for justice and improved security at football venues.

Both Danlad and Tuffour, who once proudly wore the famous red jersey of Kotoko, expressed their sorrow by holding up a shirt with the inscription “RIP Nana Pooley” before facing off against each other in the Ethiopian Premier League.

Danlad kept a clean sheet as his side, Ethiopia Bunna, secured a 1-0 victory over Tuffour’s Mechal.
