Justin Frimpong Kodua, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has openly admitted the party’s failures while in government and issued a sincere apology to Ghanaians.

He promised that if given another chance to govern, the NPP would avoid repeating past mistakes.

During a Channel One TV interview on Wednesday, June 19, Kodua recognized that while the party had achieved significant progress, it had also underperformed in certain critical areas. He stressed that the NPP fully acknowledges its shortcomings and accepts responsibility for them.

“As a political party, we certainly did our best, but we didn’t get everything right,” he said. “On behalf of our previous government and party, I apologize for the things we could have done better.”

After losing the 2024 general elections following two terms in office, the NPP has been engaging in introspection and restructuring. Kodua explained that this phase has allowed the party to evaluate its performance and strategize for a stronger comeback.

He reiterated the NPP’s dedication to improvement and accountability, stating: “We are committed to learning from our experiences. If we return to power, we will build on our successes and avoid repeating past errors.”
