A footballer has reportedly died after colliding with a teammate during a “Sunday Special” match at Kyebi-Asiakwa in the Eastern Region.
In a post shared by Ghanaian blogger SikaOfficial on X on August 11, 2025, the collapsed player was placed in a taxi by other players and was hurriedly driven to the hospital for urgent medical care.

According to an eyewitness who narrated what transpired in the video, the incident happened during a “Sunday Special” football game among residents in the Kyebi-Asiakwa community.
During the game, two players, whose identities were not revealed, collided resulting in the collapse of the deceased and the severe head injury of his opponent.

The witness added that the victim was pronounced dead shortly after receiving medical attention at the hospital.
“This is a video of a Sunday special game where two players clashed and one of them collapsed. The player was quickly transported to the hospital, but the family was informed that the player had died,” the eyewitness detailed in Twi in the viral video.
