The Black Stars recorded a thumping victory over Chad to go top of Group I of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

First-half goals from Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, and Jordan Ayew before second-half strikes from Mohammed Salisu and Ernest Nuamah ensured the Black Stars return to winning ways.

GhanaSoccernet picked five key points in the victory over Chad.

Benjamin Asare impresses on Ghana debut

Despite being quiet for most of the game, the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper did enough to convince Otto Addo and his technical team to a starting role against Chad. On a few occasions, the 32-year-old was called to action but was equal to the start. Asare could get the nod over Lawrence Ati Zigi and Jojo Wollacot in the next game against Madagascar.

    Partey shines on 50th appearance

Thomas Partey, for the first time in a while, produced an Arsenal-esque performance for the Black Stars, controlling and commanding the heart of midfield. He anchored the department as Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew took charge of offensive duties. It was a performance befitting his silver jubilee with the Black Stars.

Nuamah proving important for Black Stars

A lot of noise has been over his Right to Dream Academy senior Mohammed Kudus, but the man doing the most has been the Olympique Lyonnais star. Nuamah scored and delivered an assist in the 5-0 win. It was his second goal of the qualifying run after impressing in matches against Mali and the Central African Republic.

    Otto Addo goes offensive

For once, it was not the all-possession-based lackluster display and this was spotted right from the onset after deciding to start five attacking-minded players. Antoine Semenyo, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, and Ernest Nuamah were handed a start role, making life difficult for Chad.

    Black Stars play with confidence

Unlike the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Black Stars looked confident and barely stepped a foot wrong at the Accra Sports Stadium. Having struggled in games against Niger and Sudan, it was difficult to tell which Ghana team will show up. However, it was a swashbuckling display from the team against Chad.
