    A sad accident occurred at Juaso-Yawkwei on the Accra-Kumasi route, killing five people.

    Four of the victims died at the scene, while the fifth, who was badly injured, died after being transported to Yawkwei Steward Hospital.

    The collision happened around 1 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025.

    It involved a Toyota saloon with the registration number GW 532-11 and a freight truck with the registration number AW 2808-22.

    Kofi Saviour, an eyewitness, stated that the tipper truck driver tried an improper overtake, resulting in the collision with the saloon automobile.

    According to reports, the driver of the Toyota vehicle was a police officer stationed at Asante Akyem Agogo, and all of the fatalities were passengers.

    The remains have been transferred to Yawkwei Steward Hospital, and the tipper truck driver and his companion have been arrested.
