World football governing body FIFA has confirmed that all participating nations at the upcoming FIFA World Cup will be allowed to name squads of up to 26 players, reinforcing squad flexibility as teams intensify preparations for the global showpiece.

Member associations have been given a firm deadline of May 30 to submit their final squad lists, setting the stage for crucial selection decisions in the weeks ahead.

For Ghana, the announcement provides a significant boost to the Ghana national football team as they fine-tune preparations for the tournament. Head coach Otto Addo is expected to use the expanded squad size to strike a balance between experience and emerging talent, ensuring depth across all departments.

The extended roster offers opportunities for fringe players to break into the team while giving technical handlers room to manage injuries and tactical variations during the competition.

With the deadline approaching, attention will now turn to player performances at club level and upcoming international friendlies, as the Black Stars aim to assemble a competitive squad capable of making a strong impact on the world stage.
