American-Ghanaian rapper and psychologist, Diamond White, has claimed that many female rappers have turned the music industry, particularly the Hip-hop scene, into ‘soft pornography.’

In an interview on 3Music, Diamond White, who is also the founder of the movement “I Hustle With My Legs Closed,” criticised what she sees as the oversexualisation of women in Hip-hop and entertainment.

She argued that the industry has moved its focus away from talent and creativity to promoting sexual content and materialism.

“Female rappers have turned hip-hop into soft porn. It’s absolutely disgusting. Most of the music now isn’t talent-based, it’s about sex, body parts, and money. It’s damaging our culture,” she said.

Diamond believes there is an agenda within the entertainment industry to exploit women, particularly Black women, by promoting imagery that undermines their dignity and values.

“They want us, especially Black women, to be naked, to sleep our way to the top. They don’t want us to have morals or self-respect. That’s what’s being pushed,” she argued.

She explained that this toxic culture does not only exist in the music industry but also extends to other fields such as acting and politics, where women often feel pressured to compromise their values to succeed.

Diamond added that she is aware her choice to stay true to her values might slow down her rise in the industry, but she is willing to take that path.

“It may take me longer, but I’m okay with that. When you carry your morals and self-respect, your journey won’t be fast, but it’ll be worth it,” she stated.

Diamond White, who prides herself on being both a rapper and a psychologist, said her goal is not to chase fame or wealth but to inspire a cultural shift, and also seek God.

“I’m not chasing fame or money. I’m chasing change, growth, and God,” she said.
