If you’ve explored Kuami Eugene’s music catalog, you’re likely to come across songs titled Angela, Abena, Monica, or Belinda, among others.

In a one-on-one interview with Amansan Krakye, the ‘Canopy’ hitmaker stated that many of the female names featured in his songs are inspired by real-life encounters.

“The life I’m living; past, present, and future all shapes the kind of songs I create. The people I come into contact with influence my music,” Kuami Eugene explained.

The ‘Rockstar’ continued, “Often, I’m telling the story of a female I’ve crossed paths with, whether as a friend or in a relationship. Yes, some of the names you hear in my songs, like Abena, are based on real people I’ve met.”

He added, “I’ve had a few experiences with a lady named Abena, so when you hear that name in my songs, it’s a reflection of those encounters.”
