Ghanaian forward Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer is expected to be available for Hamburg SV when they face in Saturday’s Bundesliga clash, despite missing training earlier in the week. The 23-year-old attacker did not take part in Tuesday’s training session, raising concerns about his fitness ahead of the weekend fixture. However, head coach Merlin Polzin has assured fans that the situation is not serious and that the player remains on course to feature.
Speaking to German outlet Hamburger Abendblatt, Polzin explained that Königsdörffer’s absence was purely precautionary. According to the coach, the Ghana international trained indoors and received treatment as part of a planned recovery programme.
Polzin added that the forward was expected to gradually increase his workload on Wednesday before returning to full team training without any restrictions.
The coach also downplayed the issue with a light-hearted remark, noting that the player—affectionately called “Ransi”—often deals with minor aches but insisted there was no reason for concern.
Königsdörffer has been a key figure for Hamburg this season, and his expected return will boost the team ahead of the crucial league encounter.
