Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has shifted his main focus to helping Leicester City avoid relegation despite his impressive individual performances this season.

The 22-year-old winger has been one of the club’s standout players in a difficult campaign, contributing nine goals and seven assists in 37 appearances, while also winning the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for February.

The Foxes’ struggles have been compounded by a six-point deduction for breaching EFL Profit and Sustainability Rules, a decision the club is currently appealing.

The sanction has dragged them into a relegation battle, with the team currently sitting 22nd on the table with 39 points.

Fatawu, speaking after their goalless draw against Watford FC, acknowledged his personal contributions but stressed the importance of team success. “I always try to score and give assists, so it is nice when your hard work pays off,” he said.

“Everything we do on the pitch is to win, so we need to do better and keep working hard between now and the end of the season to make sure we stay in this league,” he added.

Leicester City will now look to build on their recent performances as they fight to secure their Championship status, with Fatawu expected to play a key role in their survival push.
