A tragic accident at Akyem Boadua in Ghana’s Eastern Region has claimed the lives of eight people, leaving six others injured in the early hours of Friday, March 7, 2025.

    Details of the Incident:

According to Adom News, five victims died on the spot, while three others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

The vehicle was en route from Kade to Accra and was driven by someone unfamiliar with the route.

Passengers repeatedly urged the driver to slow down, but he continued speeding.

Near a stretch of road between Adankrono and Pentemtwam, the driver lost control, allegedly due to poor visibility caused by overgrown vegetation.

The vehicle overturned multiple times before coming to a stop.

    Driver Flees the Scene

Shockingly, the driver abandoned the injured passengers and fled immediately after the crash. Authorities are now searching for him as investigations continue.

Emergency services arrived at the scene to assist the injured, who were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads to prevent further tragedies.
