The family of the late Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, has reportedly petitioned Nananom to once again review and change the funeral date of the celebrated musician.
This comes barely weeks after the newly constituted funeral committee, formed under the authority of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and chaired by Dadiesoabahene, announced a revised date from the earlier scheduled December 6, 2025, to December 13, 2025.
Despite this adjustment, fresh calls are emerging from key family members, including Daddy Lumba’s sister Ernestina Fosuh and his German-based wife, Akosua Serwaa Fosuh.
According to reports, the appeal is centered on the need for investigations into the cause of his death be concluded and also some of Daddy Lumba’s children, who are currently outside the country, to settle pressing obligations. Some are said to be writing examinations around the period, while others have expired passports that need renewal before they can travel back home for the funeral rites.
The revelation about the petition was made by one of the musician’s relatives, Mama China from Parkoso. Speaking in an interview shared by some vloggers, she disclosed that as a family they informed the committee chairman, Dadiesoabahene, about the family’s concerns.
She added that they respectfully pleaded with him to forgive them for any misunderstandings caused by the likes of Evangelist Papa Shee and others who publicly speculated new dates without his authorization.
Mama China further explained that, during the discussions, Dadiesoabahene acknowledged their concerns and subsequently directed them to the Saamanhene for further deliberations. According to her, the Saamanhene assured them that he would consult with the other chiefs and communicate the final decision at a later time.
