Ghanaian Highlife musician Akwaboah Jnr has disclosed who he considers his ‘go-to’ person whenever he faces challenges in the music industry.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, shared on social media on September 11, 2025, Akwaboah explained that despite the lack of unity in the creative arts industry, his bond with Fameye is unique, describing the ‘Nothing I Get’ singer as the only person he can genuinely connect with.

“There is one person whom I talk a lot with, we share our problems, and that is Fameye. He is a perfect guy. When we talk, he will tell you the reality in life… He is the only person I can invite home so we can talk,” he said.

Akwaboah further noted that people in the creative art space ask how he is faring only when they need a favour from him.

“We became friends when we went to the state. We grew closer, and ever since, we have remained close, sharing things that no one knows.

“We don’t love ourselves in this industry. They only come to you when they need something from you, but after that, they will ignore you,” he added.
