    Maximum temperatures of 37 degrees are forecast for the CBD, while the mercury is set to top 40 degrees in the western suburbs.

    Bondi in Sydney’s eastern suburbs will see slightly cooler temperatures of 34 degrees, while its western namesake ‘Pondi’ in Penrith is expected to see the mercury hit 41 degrees.

    The hot weather is expected to break later on with meterologists prediciting severe thunderstorms will sweep in.
