Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is celebrating Valentine’s Day with much younger activist Nomiki Konst in an age gap relationship reminiscent of his hometown hero Bill Belichick.
De Blasio, the 63-year-old, two-term Democrat mayor and failed presidential candidate, has kept up an active dating life since separating from wife Chirlane McCray in 2023.
He announced that he was seeing Konst, a 41-year-old former commentator for The Young Turks, on Thursday.
The mayor, a Massachusetts native and lifelong New England Patriots fan, may be emulating the team’s former coach, Bill Belichick, who himself has made headlines with an age gap relationship.
‘Nomi and I have started a really lovely relationship, just in time for Valentine’s Day. We’ve known each other for a long time and are very kindred souls,’ he told the New York Post.
Their plans for Valentine’s Day? A very low key night in front of the television but with a personal touch.
‘We’re going to cuddle up and watch romantic movies and drink Greek wine, in honor of Nomi’s heritage,’ he said.
Konst was a national co-chair on Barack Obama‘s 2012 re-election campaign before a failed run for Congress that same year.

From there, she began drifting leftward and served as a national surrogate for Bernie Sanders in 2016.
The daughter of a former legislator in upstate New York’s Erie County, she’s run for office two more times, both failures.
Konst ran for New York City Public Advocate and New York State Senate, losing in the former and withdrawing in the latter.
After stints with various progressive operations, including the far left The Young Turks and a stint on Rising at The Hill, she went independent.
De Blasio and ex-wife Chirlane McCray were even interviewed on camera by the pair in 2018.
Konst hosts a political commentary program called The Nomiki Show and appears on CBS News and CNN.
While de Blasio – whose real name is Warren Wilhelm Jr. – defended Eric Adams against the corruption charges against him that were dropped.
But the ex-mayor’s new beau is attempting to oust his replacement.
Just days before her Valentine’s Day cuddle with the former mayor, she spent an evening fundraising for State Senator Jessica Ramos.

The father of two announced in July this year that he and his wife of 30 years, McCray, were separating.
They said they did not intend to divorce, but would see other people.
He has since been seen with several women at bars across the city. McCray’s romantic life has been more discreet.
De Blasio made headlines when he was seen with a married woman 20 years his junior in 2023, much to her husband’s surprise.
