Evangelist Richard Nyarko (L) claims Agradaa (R) is doing well in prison Evangelist Richard Nyarko (L) claims Agradaa (R) is doing well in prison

Evangelist Richard Nyarko, a former convict turned preacher, has provided an update on Nana Agradaa’s situation, stating that the imprisoned evangelist is doing well behind bars.

Evangelist Richard Nyarko, who spent about 20 years in prison before his release and now ministers in prisons, said Agradaa, known in private life as Evangelist Patricia Asiedu, is still committed to her ministry even in confinement.

His disclosure stands in sharp contrast to recent remarks by Appiah Biblical regarding Agradaa.

In another case, separate from the one that led to her imprisonment, Agradaa and two others were charged under the Cybersecurity Act for allegedly broadcasting explicit images of Appiah Biblical on Thunder TV (now Today TV).

During their most recent court appearance on November 19, 2025, Appiah Biblical described Agradaa as appearing “pitiful” in prison, noting that her current appearance left many in the courtroom visibly shocked.

“Agradaa came to court today. If you see her, you will be shocked. She has really changed. Her entire appearance has changed, and everyone in the courtroom was stunned. I was even shocked when I saw her,” Biblical said.

However, evangelist Richard Nyarko assured Ghanaians that Agradaa is coping well.

In an interview with Channel One TV on November 30, 2025, he said he had seen Agradaa during his last visit to the prison and that she was doing well, even sharing the word of God with her fellow inmates.

“Our sister Patricia is doing well by the grace of God. I saw her last Sunday…All I can say is that, as the scripture says, ‘before I was afflicted, I went astray.’ It will surprise us that some of these people will come out and do great things. I will not campaign for the government to intervene, but the Lord will orchestrate her freedom in His time,” he said.

Agradaa, the founder of Heaven Way Champion International Church, has been serving her prison sentence since July 3, 2025, when the Circuit Court in Accra handed her a 15-year term with hard labour.

Judge Evelyn Asamoah convicted her on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretences.

The former traditional priestess turned evangelist was accused of defrauding multiple victims during a 2022 televised broadcast, claiming she had spiritual powers to double money.

Her false promises led many people to hand over large sums of money, hoping for miraculous financial returns that never materialised.
