The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has said that every district in Ghana will be furnished with an Astroturf if his presidential bid comes to fruition.

According to him, the NPP government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has constructed about 150 Astroturfs in some parts of the country, compared to the three they met in office in 2017.

Dr. Bawumia indicated that if he wins the 2024 elections to continue in government, he will put plans in place to ensure that every district without an Astroturf is provided one to aid their sporting activities.

During a campaign tour at Dambai, the NPP flagbearer pledged to build an Astroturf for the community and other areas.

“In the next few weeks, we will be building an Astroturf for you at Dambai. From the way things are going, every district must have an Astroturf. When we assumed office in 2017, there were just three Astroturfs nationwide, but after eight years, we have increased that number to 150.

“When we come into power again, we will make sure the rest of the districts without one will get it,” he said in a video shared by GHOne TV on X.

Dr. Bawumia continues to embark on a campaign in various communities to share his policies with the people ahead of the general elections slated for December 7, 2024.
