Everton players took a lighthearted approach to easing tensions in the squad after Idrissa Gueye was sent off for striking teammate Michael Keane during their Premier League clash at Manchester United.

The incident occurred just 13 minutes into Everton’s remarkable win at Old Trafford on Monday, November 24, 2025. Gueye had misplaced a loose pass in the penalty area, which Keane intercepted, prompting the midfielder to berate his teammate.

In the heat of the moment, Gueye raised his hand to Keane’s face, leading to referee Tony Harrington’s decision to send him off.

After the match, Gueye apologized to both his teammates and fans. However, Everton opted to turn the tense episode into a moment of humor and camaraderie.

On Thursday, November 27, 2025, the club posted a video from their training session showing Gueye and Keane engaged in a mock boxing match.

Both players donned a single glove each and traded playful and humorous blows while their teammates looked on and laughed.

The video quickly circulated among fans, who appreciated the team’s efforts to handle the situation in a jovial way.
