Evacuations are underway and an area has been taped off after a ‘suspicious package’ was found at a freight firm near Heathrow Airport.
Police rushed to the Goldstar lorry depot in the village of Colnbrook, Berkshire, on Monday evening amid reports of a ‘suspicious package’.
The warehouse sits only around three miles west of Terminal 5 at Heathrow, the biggest international air terminus in the UK.
And the site is also within less than a mile of some of the major passenger hotels, like the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 and the B&B Hotel London Heathrow.
Anyone within 100m of the scene on Bath Road is being evacuated and the public has been urged to avoid the area.
A further 200m cordon is also in place as a precaution while detectives investigate the package, which could cause traffic disruption.
The depot, which appears to be set within a broader industrial estate, is also the firm’s headquarters.
Thames Valley Police Berkshire posted an update to social media at around 7.30pm, which reads: ‘We are currently at the scene of an incident in Bath Road, Colnbrook, at the site of Goldstar (Heathrow) Ltd.

‘We are dealing with a suspicious package and a 100m evacuation is ongoing in the surrounding areas.
‘We also have a further 200m cordon in place at this time which could impact on local traffic.
‘This has been put in place as a precautionary measure while the package is being evaluated. We would urge people to please avoid the immediate vicinity.
‘We’re working with our partners to minimise disruption to the community and keep everyone safe. Further updates will follow.’
Goldstar is one of the UK’s foremost airport haulage companies, transporting cargo from Heathrow to its other two depots in Manchester and Birmingham.
The Heathrow site is the centre of its operations, with the firm’s website reading: ‘We provide a nationwide delivery and collection service operating from our Colnbrook HQ at London Heathrow.’
Heathrow Airport and Thames Valley Police have been contacted for comment.
This is a breaking story – further updates to follow.
