Erling Haaland didn’t forget his roots as he celebrated Manchester City‘s Carabao Cup final victory with an unexpected encounter involving a rival fan.
City were crowned League Cup champions on Sunday with a deserving 2-0 win over Arsenal at Wembley.
For once Haaland wasn’t City’s matchwinner, with team-mate Nico O’Reilly scoring both goals for Pep Guardiola‘s side.
And as City celebrated at Wembley, Haaland engaged in a light-hearted conversation with a Leeds supporter who wished to congratulate him.
Waiting for Haaland to walk past, the Leeds fan can be heard shouting ‘Leeds, Leeds, Leeds’ repeatedly at him, in a short video on X.
And as he walks by, Haaland can be seen smiling and pointing back before replying ‘Till we die’.

Haaland’s love for Leeds is sparked by his dad Alf-Inge playing for the club when he was born
The 25-year-old Norway international has a close bond with Leeds United, having been born in the city and growing up as a supporter of the club.
His links to Leeds start with his father Alf-Inge who was playing for the Elland Road outfit.
Speaking in 2017, while at Molde, Haaland outlined his big dream of winning the Premier League title with his boyhood club.
‘I want to be the best. The dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds,’ he told Aftenposten.
‘In addition, the goal is to be a better player than Dad was. I hope to get more international matches than he did.’
