Manchester City produced a commanding display at the Etihad Stadium, sweeping aside rivals Manchester United with a 3–0 win that leaves Erik ten Hag under even greater pressure. Phil Foden opened the scoring before Erling Haaland struck twice to put the result beyond doubt.

The breakthrough came after 18 minutes when Foden rose highest to meet Jeremy Doku’s pinpoint cross, punishing United’s defensive frailties. City dictated the tempo for much of the first half, restricting their opponents to half chances while looking comfortable in possession.

Just minutes after the restart, Doku carved open United’s back line once more, sliding a clever ball into Haaland’s path. The Norwegian made no mistake, coolly finishing to mark his 150th appearance for the club. He almost added a second soon after, rattling the woodwork, while Bernardo Silva wasted the rebound.

The third goal eventually arrived in the 68th minute. Haaland accelerated past Harry Maguire and drilled home emphatically to seal his brace. The victory lifts City into eighth place with six points on the board, while United remain stranded in 14th, collecting just four points from their opening matches.

Elsewhere at the top, Liverpool lead the standings with 12 points, followed closely by Arsenal, Tottenham, and Bournemouth on nine, with Chelsea just behind on eight.
