The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has seized a luxury 2019 Lamborghini Urus belonging to dancehall star Shatta Wale as part of a joint investigation with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) into suspected financial crimes.

According to EOCO, the vehicle is linked to a U.S. fraud case involving Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a prison sentence for a $4.7 million financial scam. Acting on a request from U.S. authorities, EOCO officials stormed Shatta Wale’s Trassaco Valley residence to carry out the seizure.

The artiste, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, voluntarily handed over the Lamborghini but later took to social media to deny any wrongdoing. He insisted that he legally acquired the car and accused EOCO of humiliating him during the operation.

EOCO has described Shatta Wale as a “person of interest” in the case, which means he could face further questioning as investigations continue. Meanwhile, the seizure has sparked heated debate online, with fans divided between defending the musician and calling for due process to be followed.

As of now, Shatta Wale has not been charged with any crime. The case underscores growing cooperation between Ghanaian and U.S. authorities in tackling financial crimes and money laundering.
