The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has officially confirmed the seizure of a luxury Lamborghini Urus belonging to Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

According to EOCO, the vehicle, a 2019 model, was confiscated in June 2025 following a formal request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.

In a press statement, EOCO revealed that the car was traced to financial crimes committed by Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian national currently serving an 86-month prison sentence in the U.S. for fraud-related offenses.

“The car was seized from one Charles Nii Armah, aka Shatta Wale. The officers were professional and civil,” EOCO stated.

Sources within EOCO disclosed that Shatta Wale pleaded with authorities not to make the seizure public, citing potential harm to his image and brand. However, EOCO emphasized that the vehicle was voluntarily surrendered and is currently being held in their custody.

The U.S. government is expected to formally request the repatriation of the Lamborghini as part of a wider operation to recover approximately $4.7 million in stolen funds linked to Amuah’s case.

This development marks a major collaboration between Ghanaian law enforcement and U.S. authorities in tackling transnational financial crime.

Shatta Wale is yet to issue an official response to the EOCO statement.
