Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Björkegren, has disclosed that some clubs in England and the United States have shown interest in signing goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan.

“We heard, actually, that no one has picked her yet. I know there has been interest from both England and the US. I mean, we are talking about a quality goalkeeper. “

“She is young, tall, really fast, moves quickly, and she is an amazing girl. I think at least now someone should offer her a good contract,” he told the media after the game after the Ghana-England friendly game.

Goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan dominated conversations on social media after the Black Queens lost 2-0 to the Lionesses of England in an international friendly on December 2, 2025.

In a game where many expected the Lionesses to score an avalanche of goals, Konlan rose to the occasion and produced top-notch saves to prevent a humiliating scoreline.

The goalkeeper made more than five crucial saves that kept Ghana in the game until a last-minute penalty in added time sealed the 2-0 result.

Konlan currently plays for Samartex Ladies and has been one of the most outstanding local goalkeepers.
