Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste Emmanuel Essel, popularly known as Jah Lead, has publicly apologised for threats of violence he made against music producer Joshua Raphaelson, also known as JMJ.

The conflict arose over a song featured on JMJ’s Riddim of the Gods project. Jah Lead had accused the producer of blocking the track on Audiomack despite its strong streaming performance.

He also alleged that JMJ licensed the song to Boomplay without his permission and was withholding revenue from their hit collaboration, Lonely.

In a heated statement on March 17, 2025, Jah Lead said, “He should dare not think he’s older than me, we’re age mates. When the time comes, I’ll meet him on the street and beat him mercilessly. I want people to talk about it because I’ll face him like a man.”

However, during an interview on Hitz FM on April 17, 2025, the artiste expressed remorse, revealing that his threats were fueled by personal crises, including bereavement and marital problems.

“Honestly, JM is my brother. I love him and would never assault him. Emotions were running high… I fully retract that statement. I appreciate our collaboration, and we can both move forward,” he stated.
