Fox Sports host Emmanuel Acho is among the thousands of Californians fleeing the Palisades Fires in Los Angeles, where the former NFL linebacker recorded a horrifying video of the blaze.
‘Yo, LA is literally is on fire,’ the 34-year-old Acho said off camera as his dashboard, bumper-to-bumper traffic and the burning hillsides flashed across the screen. ‘I’m driving home, because somebody said the Hollywood Hills are on fire, and you can literally see the freaking fire in the Hollywood Hills. Like, this is right now in LA.’
Wildfires that ravaged some of the most picturesque neighborhoods in the LA area continued to grow Wednesday as fire crews battled three major out-of-control blazes that killed at least five people.
Winds were easing and firefighters from across the state were relieving exhausted crews, but the danger was far from over. As officials provided an update on the fires, a new blaze broke out in the Hollywood Hills, and evacuation orders were also extended to Santa Monica.
As a result, Acho is said he was preparing to flee.
‘Please pray for LA— the Hollywood Hills are now on fire,’ Acho captioned his video on X. ‘I just took this video as I am about to evacuate my house.’

Sports teams, stars, networks and colleges are among many impacted by the horrific wildfires that have killed at least five and displaced thousands more around LA.
The NHL has postponed the Los Angeles Kings’ home game against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday, while the NFL continues to monitor the situation with both local teams preparing for the playoffs and the Rams hosting the Minnesota Vikings for a Wild Card playoff matchup on Monday night in Inglewood. The league revealed its contingency plan on Wednesday, stating that the game could be moved to the Arizona Cardinals’ stadium if needed.
Meanwhile, according to Chris Haynes, NBA star Kawhi Leonard is ‘stepping away’ from the Los Angeles Clippers to help family that have been evacuated due to the Pacific Palisades wildfire hours before the team’s game against the Nuggets.
In fact, Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick and his family have already evacuated from that same area, as he revealed to reporters Wednesday: ‘Our family, my wife’s family, my wife’s twin sister, they’ve evacuated. I know a lot of people are freaking out right now, including my family.’
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr isn’t in any immediate danger, but told reporters that his 90-year-old mother Ann was among those evacuated from the Pacific Palisades fire on Wednesday.
What’s more, ESPN canceled Wednesday’s broadcast of NBA Today from its LA studio, while schools abutting the Palisades fire such as UCLA and Pepperdine are holding steady, but prepared to cancel any number of sporting events at a moments notice.

Acho’s retreat from his home comes during a tumultuous week for the former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker.
Although he is not named as a defendant in the bombshell sexual harassment lawsuit at Fox Sports, Acho was accused of having an affair with his FS1 co-host, Joy Taylor.
Filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf former Fox Sports hair stylist Noushin Faraji, the lawsuit accuses Bayless and Fox Sports executive Charlie Dixon of sexual harassment. Bayless is accused of offering $1.5million to Faraji for sex, while Dixon is accused of groping the stylist’s buttocks.
Taylor, herself, is accused of dismissing Faraji’s sexual harassment complaints against Bayless and Fox Sports executive Dixon, allegedly telling the hair stylist to ‘get over it.’
Fox has released a brief statement, although Taylor, Bayless, and Acho have remained silent on the issue.
‘We take these allegations seriously and will allow the legal process to run its course,’ read the network statement. ‘We have no further comment at this time.’
DailyMail.com has reached out to Taylor’s representatives and her foundation for comment. Attorneys for Bayless, Dixon and Taylor have not yet been provided to Los Angeles Superior Court. Furthermore, a spokesman for Acho has not responded to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
