    Ellembelle MP provides scholarship to over 300 brilliant but needy tertiary students

    The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle Constituency in the Western region, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has provided one-million Ghana cedis scholarship package to more than 300 brilliant but needy tertiary students.

    The aim of the scholarship package is to empowering brilliant but needy tertiary students in his Constituency to become responsible citizens in future.

    Speaking at a colorful ceremony held at Nzema Aiyinasi on Saturday, November 1, 2025, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah who is also the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, commended the current management of Ghana National Gas Company for supporting Ellembelle Constituency with one million Ghana cedis to cater for other expenses of these beneficiary students.

    He disclosed that the selection was done on merit and not on political colors.

    “We did not look at their political backgrounds but we selected the brilliant but needy tertiary students in Ellembelle Constituency”, he stated.

    He also revealed that the previous NPP administration in Ellembelle district misused the 3 billion Ghana cedis given to them by the Ghana Gas company.

    “In the last five years, Ghana Gas company gave 3 billion Ghana cedis to Ellembelle district Assembly and they didn’t use to help Ellembelle students and they couldn’t account for the money”, he worried.

    He said under President John Dramani Mahama government, any money given to him and the district assembly would be utilised well to benefit Ellembelle people.

    “Today, Ghana Gas has given us one million Ghana cedis and we are giving it to 300 tertiary students and this is how a good government works and we are grateful to Ghana Gas company”, he emphasised.

    He took the opportunity to commend the late President John Evans Atta Mills and President John Dramani Mahama for establishing the Ghana Gas company in Ellembelle district.

    He disclosed that the new leadership of Ghana National Gas Company would do a lot for Ellembelle district and urged the good people of Ellembelle to support the government to deliver.

    Armah-Kofi Buah stated that the focus of his NDC government was to empowering the good people of Ellembelle and strengthening institutions in Ellembelle.

    He, therefore, took the opportunity to present a 2025 registered pick up vehicle to the Ghana Police in Ellembelle district.

    On his side, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Joseph Agyekum, commended Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for always thinking positively about the good people of Ellembelle district.

    “None of this would have been possible without the visionary leadership of Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, our indefatigable Minister of Lands and Natural Resources. His relentless advocacy and deep-rooted commitment to Ellembelle’s progress paved the way for these resources. Hon. Buah, your dedication to equitable development inspires us all—thank you”, he acknowledged.

    He also thanked Ghana Gas company and other corporate partners for investing in Ellembelle educational agenda.

    He challenged the beneficiary tertiary students to take their academic works seriously to return to Ellembelle district after completion to contribute their quota to the development of Ellembelle district.

    “To our Corporate partners in progress: Your investment in education reaffirms that human capital is the bedrock of national growth.

    To our students—this support is not just financial aid; it is a challenge to excel and return to uplift Ellembelle”, he said.

    He concluded “Let us remember: Development is a collective journey. Together, with leaders like Hon. Buah and Corporate partners like Ghana Gas, Ellembelle’s future is bright”.

    The chiefs commended Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for the kind gesture and urged the beneficiary tertiary students to make good use of the money.

    Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Daniel Kaku, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Ellembelle, MP Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah and Ghana National Gas Company for supporting them and promised to take their academic works seriously.
