John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that he will only accept the election results if the process is transparent and credible as the general election on December 7 draws near. Mahama expressed his worries about the fairness of the election process in an exclusive interview with the BBC that Citi News was able to watch on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He stated that he would not accept any result that was tainted by violence or irregularities.

He emphasized the need of holding a free and fair election and the importance of maintaining the electoral process’s integrity for the country’s democracy. “You want me to accept that outcome if there is widespread ballot stealing, beatings, military moves in and intimidates people, and thugs are everywhere, tearing up the area. It will rely on the process’s fairness and transparency,” he said.
