Dancehall musician Stonebwoy has made an emotional appeal to Ghanaians to prioritise peace as the nation prepares for the December 7, 2024 general elections.

In a video shared on social media, the “Run Go” hitmaker urged citizens to embrace unity and calmness as they exercise their democratic rights.

Stonebwoy reminded Ghanaians that the country is all they have, emphasising, “We don’t have any other country, any other nation to look up to.”

He called for peaceful conduct during the electoral process, urging voters to remain calm after casting their ballots.

“If you love your political party, of course, you have the right to support them. But once you go out there and vote, just relax. This is not the time for fighting or conflict. Just do what you have to do,” he said.

Stonebwoy added, “Peace, that’s what we want. So, make sure there’s peace. That’s how we can build a nation.”

The musician’s plea is in line with the growing calls for peace from various individuals ahead of the elections.

NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will face off against his strongest contender, NDC’s John Dramani Mahama. Other candidates, including New Force Movement leader Nana Kwame Bediako, Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen, and several others, are also fiercely contesting the race.
