    An elderly man is fighting for his life after being attacked on a London high street. 

    Three teenage girls aged 14, 16 and 17 have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following the incident in Holloway at 11.35pm yesterday. 

    The man, who is believed to be in his seventies, was found injured at the scene and taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. 

    His next of kin have been informed. 

    Pictures taken this morning show a large cordon has been set up around a Nationwide bank on Seven Sisters Road, near the junction with Holloway Road.

    A separate cordon has been set up near the Moonlight Supermarket on Holloway Road. 

    The Met has said enquiries are ongoing and has asked anyone with information to call police on 101 or contact @MetCC on X quoting CAD8184/27FEB25.
