Eight people have been injured in a land train crash at a holiday park in Cornwall.

Pictures from the scene show the vehicle’s trailer tipped over onto one side with debris strewn across the road.

The crash occurred just before 7pm on Wednesday night at the popular tourist hotspot of Tregoad Holiday Park near Looe, Cornwall.

Two helicopters – one from the coastguard and an air ambulance – rushed to the scene, along with police and paramedics.

None of the people injured are currently in a critical or life-changing condition, police have said.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said on Wednesday night: ‘Police are currently at the scene of a multi-agency incident at a holiday park in St Martin, near Looe.

‘We were called just before 7pm tonight  following an incident involving a land train.

‘Ambulance, Coastguard and fire are also in attendance. Eight people are believed to have been injured, but none of their injuries are thought to be critical or life-changing at this stage. The incident remains ongoing at this time.’
