The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya West, Eghan Nyamekye Kalala, has pledged his full support to the Awutu Senya Poultry Value Chain Innovation Association (ASPIIA) during a courtesy visit and working meeting with its members.

Speaking at ASPIIA’s monthly general meeting held at the Association’s office at Konkon Wonderland, Kalala assured members that the Assembly is fully committed to partnering with them to strengthen the local poultry industry and improve livelihoods within the district.

“Whatever support the Assembly can offer, we will do. My office is open 24/7 to receive you. Let’s work together to grow our farming community,” he said.

As part of his address, Kalala announced the establishment of a Farming Service Centre in the district to provide essential services and resources to farmers aimed at improving productivity and sustainability.

He further disclosed the allocation of 15,000 birds to poultry farmers in the district, with plans to expand the programme in the near future.

Kalala emphasised that ASPIIA will play a central role in driving the government’s Nkokonketenten Policy, which seeks to enhance agricultural value chains and promote food self-sufficiency.

The DCE was accompanied by the District Director of Agriculture, who outlined several strategic plans by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to strengthen the poultry sector.

He commended Kalala’s dedication and described his proactive approach as a clear sign of leadership that prioritises farmers’ welfare.

Executives of ASPIIA expressed their appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed their commitment to partnering with the government to ensure the success of national agricultural programmes such as the Feed Ghana Policy.

The Association also called on all poultry farmers within the district to register and join ASPIIA to benefit from upcoming initiatives, capacity-building programmes, and government interventions.
