A scene from Efia Odo’s 'Take Me Home' visualizer with Mr Drew A scene from Efia Odo’s ‘Take Me Home’ visualizer with Mr Drew

Efia Odo’s ‘Take Me Home’ visualizer with Mr Drew got people talking for all the wrong reasons, and now she has cleared the air on what really went down.

The teaser, released on social media, showed the two ‘caressing’ each other, with Mr Drew even spanking her on the ass.

In an interview with Ghana Weekend on September 9, 2025, Efia Odo dismissed claims that the video was a publicity stunt.

‘I’ll never submit to a broke guy’ – Efia Odo

She explained that Mr Drew’s appearance in the visualizer was completely unplanned.

According to her, she had run into him days before the shoot and asked if he would be interested in taking part.

“The funny thing is, Mr Drew being in the video wasn’t premeditated. I was going somewhere and I saw him. We started vibing, and two days before shooting I hit him up to ask if he could be in it. He agreed, and that’s how it happened,” she said.

Efia Odo mentioned that there is nothing beyond music between her and Mr Drew, clarifying that their chemistry in the video was just for artistic purpose and should not be mistaken for a real-life romance.

My ideal man must last over an hour in bed – Efia Odo

“Every time Ghanaians see me with a guy, automatically I’m dating him. But no, Mr. Drew and I are just friends. We worked together professionally and it was great,” she explained.

She also addressed another criticism from some social media users who claimed she brings “bad luck” to artistes she associates with, pointing finger to names like Kwesi Arthur and King Promise whose careers, in the eyes of some, slowed down after she was closely involved with them.

Efia Odo rejected this claim, stating that she has always been a supporter of Ghanaian talent, not someone who holds them back.

“Was I not the same person promoting Kwesi Arthur’s songs all the time? I’ve also worked with Likee, has Likee stopped what he’s doing? I’m close to Shatta Wale, has he stopped doing music? I’ve supported so many people in the industry, from Darkovibes to Gyakie to Black Sherif,” she said.
