Ghanaian goalkeeping talent Edwin Danquah has achieved a significant milestone in his fledgling career, helping Excelsior Rotterdam secure promotion to the Dutch Eredivisie.

Excelsior Rotterdam confirmed their promotion to the Eredivisie on Friday, May 9, 2025, with a victory over Jong PSV in the Dutch First Division.

The 21-year-old Ghanaian goalkeeping prodigy, officially registered with Excelsior Rotterdam’s first team, joined the post-match celebrations.

Danquah was a consistent performer for Excelsior Rotterdam’s youth team in the Dutch youth league, featuring in 22 matches and delivering magnificent goalkeeping performances in several games.

His performances have caught the attention of some European clubs interested in his services; however, the other hand, the 21-year-old is yet to make a decision on his future.

Danquah joined Excelsior Rotterdam from De Graafschap in 2024 on a season-long deal.

Born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, Danquah is eligible to represent either Ghana or the Dutch national team. Reports suggest, however, that he favors playing for his parents’ homeland, Ghana.
