Footy fans were left stunned after Eddie McGuire’s latest TV appearance in which the football and media personality looked like he’d had a make-up mishap, with some viewers comparing him to Beetlejuice.
The veteran broadcaster, who was hosting Nine’s Gather Round in the Barossa special on Tuesday night, looked noticeably washed out to many viewers at home.
Posts on X appeared almost immediately after McGuire’s appearance, with fans expressing amusement and shock at his ghostly look.
‘Who the hell did Eddie’s makeup? It’s scaring me,’ posted one fan.
‘I mean this in the nicest way possible, fire Eddie’s makeup artist,’ wrote another.
‘His makeup looks like something out of beetle juice,’ said a third.

McGuire was interviewing Hawthorn forward Jack Ginnivan, who was embroiled in controversy the last time his team played Port Adelaide.
The Hawks were pipped by Port in the semi-final and Ginnivan was taunted by Port coach Ken Hinkley’s winged celebration – which referenced Ginnivan’s previous comments to a Swans player.
Ginnivan said fans will have to wait and see if he decides to do a plane celebration when the two teams clash this weekend.
‘You’ll have to wait to see if I kick one, but I’m sure I’m going to have it in the back pocket,’ he said about the celebration.
‘We’ve started the season so well, it’s pretty obvious the AFL put it last and I’m sure they’re going to use the game (semi final) to promote the game (round 5) as much as possible.
‘But for us it’s another game, we’re just excited to play whoever comes in our way and hopefully keep the season rolling.’
The Port coach realises he’ll be central to the build-up to his side’s Gather Round grudge game against Hawthorn.

And while he’s fine with it, Hinkley won’t care for it.
‘I will do everything we can to try and beat Hawthorn and bring our best game of football, that’s all I care about,’ Hinkley said after Port’s 17-point loss to St Kilda on Sunday.
‘I don’t care about any of the stuff that goes on outside that.’
The 12th-placed Power are wobbling with one win and three losses ahead of hosting the table-topping Hawks, who are unbeaten from four games.
