The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has assured its customers to restore power after outages were experienced in parts of Accra on Tuesday, March 25, following a destructive rainstorm.

ECG attributed the disruption in electricity supply to damage caused by the severe weather conditions.

In a March 26 statement, ECG informed the public about the outages and assured affected customers that efforts are underway to restore power as quickly as possible.

The state-power distributor noted that the storm had significantly impacted sections of its network, leading to electrical faults and interruptions in service delivery.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of Accra and its environs yesterday evening (25th March, 2025) has caused some outages within our network,” ECG stated.

The statement added that a team of engineers has been deployed to assess the extent of the damage and carry out necessary repairs.

    Below is the full statement.
