The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned power outages in selected areas of the Greater Accra Region on Monday, July 21, 2025.

According to a report by graphic.com.gh on July 21, residents in parts of the region should prepare for an eight-hour blackout as the company undertakes maintenance work aimed at enhancing electricity supply.

The scheduled maintenance will take place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the marked locations.

Affected areas include Santana, Alajo, Tesano, Oyarifa Ankonam, Special Gardens, Oyarifa White House, Teiman, Glefe, Wiaboman, and surrounding communities.

In a public notice issued on Saturday, July 19, ECG explained that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery and infrastructure resilience across the capital.

The company acknowledged that while the maintenance may cause temporary disruptions, it is a necessary step toward ensuring a stable and efficient power distribution system in the long term.

“ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery. We regret the inconvenience caused to affected customers,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Electricity Company of Ghana has assured all affected residents that power will be promptly restored after the maintenance window.

Businesses in the listed areas are also urged to plan ahead to minimise disruptions to their daily operations.

For further updates, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) encourages the public to follow its official social media channels or contact its customer service lines for real-time information.
