Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) has urged political parties to accept the outcome of the forthcoming elections.

According to the Chairperson, Jean Mensa, the EC has implemented robust measures to guarantee that the elections will be peaceful, free, fair, and transparent.

Speaking at the signing of the 4th Presidential Election Peace Pact in Accra on Thursday, November 28, 2024, she called on Ghanaians to have confidence in the EC’s ability to conduct a stable, violence-free election.

The EC Chairperson urged all stakeholders, including political parties, civil society organizations, and voters, to uphold peace and unity, ensuring a smooth and successful electoral process.

“As a commission, I am pleased to note that we have walked the talk of peace. Mindful of the fact that attaining peaceful electoral outcomes will depend on our actions.

“We have, right from the start of our electoral processes, consciously operated and conducted ourselves in a manner that will ensure peace before, during and after the elections,” she stated.
